Space Adventures and Travelzoo to Send 10 Millionth Subscriber to Space

Space Adventures, Ltd., the world's leading space experiences company, announced today that Travelzoo, a global Internet media company, purchased a suborbital spaceflight for their 10 millionth subscriber. Travelzoo Chairman and CEO, Ralph Bartel, presented Matt Wagner, of Santa Fe Springs, Calif., with a suborbital spaceflight ticket during a Space Adventures' Zero-Gravity flight.

As the 10 millionth subscriber of Travelzoo's publications, Mr. Wagner received a reservation for a future suborbital spaceflight. During the flight, rocket motors will boost passengers 100 km above the Earth's surface. As the vehicle reaches the maximum altitude, the rocket engines will shut down and participants experience up to five minutes of continuous weightlessness, all the while gazing at the vast blackness of space and the blue horizon of the Earth below.

"Matthew will have the unique opportunity to experience what fewer than 500 people have before . . . spaceflight," said Eric Anderson, president and CEO of Space Adventures. "Through our suborbital spaceflight program, we hope to send thousands of individuals, like Matthew, to space in the next decade."

Space Adventures, the only company to have successfully launched private explorers to space, is headquartered in Vienna, Va. with offices in Cape Canaveral, Fla., Moscow and Tokyo. It offers a variety of programs such as the availability today for orbital spaceflight missions to the International Space Station, commercial missions around the moon, Zero-Gravity and MiG flights, cosmonaut training, spaceflight qualification programs and reservations on future suborbital spacecrafts. The company's advisory board comprises Apollo 11 moonwalker Buzz Aldrin, shuttle astronauts Kathy Thornton, Robert (Hoot) Gibson, Charles Walker, Norm Thagard, Sam Durrance, Byron Lichtenberg, Pierre Thuot and Skylab astronaut Owen Garriott.
