June 25 2010
Last night, Eric Anderson, Co-Founder and Chairman of Space Adventures, Ltd., the leading space tourism company and the only company who has arranged for private citizens to go to space, was honored as a recipient of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur Of The Year award for Greater Washington. The awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Having won the regional competition, Mr. Anderson now advances to the national competition and will be considered for the overall award of National Entrepreneur Of The Year, to be announced in November.
“With great honor, I accept the Entrepreneur Of The Year award," said Eric Anderson, Co-Founder and Chairman of Space Adventures. “It is very satisfying to know that amid all the challenges that we faced in creating and opening the market for space tourism that we have come to a point to be recognized with such a high honor. I am grateful not only for the award itself, but also for the chance to share it with my family, my colleagues at Space Adventures, and all of the private citizens who have helped to open the frontier by traveling to space with us!”
